A Blast From My Past

We used to sing this song in our children’s group at the Evangelical Non-Denominational Church I used to attend before moving out after about 16 years in it. It was getting too commercial and they kicked the college group out for no realistic reasons whatsoever.

The children’s group was called “Sunland” and there were about 50 of us very young 1st to 4th graders in it. It was a megachurch. It changed its name to Real World Explorers though after a while. There were other changes to it as well but I remember singing this song. It was my favorite of the songs we sung and it was just a “pump” for us hyperactive children. The Church used to be called Bethany Community Church. Now it’s called Sun Valley Community Church. Our houseleader at our Habitat for Humanity build was stating how he still attends there and they use these holograms now.

Meanwhile, we Byzantine Christians are stuck with really good music from Divna Ljubojevic. As opposed to the cheesy music that we had to hear over and over and again and again in our megachurch. It seems that a lot of Evangelical Churches do this though. My Evangelical Covenant Church was no better.
