And at the time when the Son of man returns in the glory of his kingdom he will sort out the goats and the sheep and he will place the goats on his left hand side and the sheep on his right hand side. And he will say to the goats on his left hand side, “You laughed hard at my resurrection and sought to disprove it. For that you have much to be applauded for. However, you let your materialism prevent you from seeing clearly as to this idea. Therefore, you are fools to have dismissed this idea in your academic studies as a non-possibility!”
At this point, the sheep started to get really excited. They had spent their whole lives shewing the goats the absolute truth and reality of the resurrection and now, once and for all, the goats were getting called fools! Their just desserts! But then Jesus turned to them and said, “You never laughed at my resurrection nor questioned it. For that, you have absolutely nothing to boast about. Even further, you mocked my own nature by thinking that my existence somehow needed to be proved to everyone so they could believe in me! You are all fools! Fools for reducing me to a mere, material abstract!”
There’s a reason why Matthew 25:31-46 doesn’t judge people based on what they believed.
