It is a serious error to take a thread of the past and say that it is the same thing in Christianity. Rev. 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

    • The only thing that REMOTELY resembled the Christian Trinity on that list was the Egyptian one. I looked up that guy and apparently, he attempts to connect the Virgin Birth with Egyptian mythology as well. DEBUNKED!

Appendix IV of this handy book deals in depth with the historicity of the Virginal conception and asserts we need to take it SERIOUSLY analysing and refuting all of the “it’s pagan” tropes.

Further, if Re and Ptah form Amun, this is not Trinitarianism, this is BINITARIANISM–what the UCG maintains to. Showing that anti-Trinitarians generally have a VERY poor sense of Trinitarian theology. I usually accused Trinitarians of being Modalists when I was an anti-Trinitarian. Never once did I say they were “tritheists” or “pagans”. I was actually more stooped in Trinitarian theology than most Trinitarians were.

That is an interesting and peculiar truth about folks and their beliefs, how those who claim to believe something do not know as much about what they believe as some of their opponents. It reminds me of one way they caught german spies was to ask an obscure question about baseball statistics, if the person knew the answer odds were that he was a spy because they would drill the spy in local history and current events so he would fit in.

      • James 2–“you believe, good. Even the demons believe and they shudder because of it.”
